Happy endings are the best for fairy tales, after all! Rumpelstiltskin was a fixer for the miller's daughter (the Grimms didn't bother to give her a name), but he didn't work for free, at least not for her. In the end, he didn't get the baby (what was he going to do with it, anyway), which left things open for me.
